A ‘Partner Field School Congress’ was held in Dakshin Surma to develop modern, pesticide-free and climate-resilient agriculture.
The Partner Field School Congress was organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Thursday (June 26) afternoon.
Organized under the “Programme on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh” (Partner) program of the Department of Agricultural Extension, the congress discussed in detail the outline of modern agricultural management, climate-resilient agriculture and pesticide-free food production.
Upazila Executive Officer Urmi Roy presided over and Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Dipankar Sutradhar
conducted the Partner Field School Congress.
Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension, Sylhet, Mustafa Iqbal Azad attend the Programme as the chief guest.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Gautam Pal presented the welcome speech.
Tamanna Nahar, Additional Deputy Director (Horticulture) of Department of Agricultural Extension, Sylhet, Monowar Hossain, Upazila Cooperative Officer Mahbubur Rahman, Upazila Food Controller Jahangir Arif Khan, Upazila Fisheries Officer Sunanda Modak, Upazila Statistics Officer Mahbub Iftekhar Chowdhury, Upazila Family Planning Officer Manda Ranjan Roy also attend the programme as special guest.
In addition, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers working in various unions of South Surma Upazila also spoke. Agricultural entrepreneurs Syedur Rahman, Delwar Hossain, Faruk Ahmed and others
Among others, BAJF Sylhet District Secretary SA Shafi, former President of Dakshin Surma Press Club Ashraful Islam Imran were present here.
Members of Partner Field School Congress and other dignitaries were also present at the event. The day-long Partner Field School Congress was enjoyed by PFS members and non-member farmers of various unions of dakshin Surma Upazila.
