Music: Pantha Kanai’s dream comes true with new song

During the Corona period, people all over the world were confined to their homes.

Meetings and gatherings stopped. People had to spend idle time sitting at home. Everyone was dreaming anew, when the good days would return again.

Pantha Kanai brought back memories of that time in his new song. The title of the song is ‘Sei Ek Somoy Chhilo’. Pilu Khan has composed the music for this song written by Shaheed Mahmud Jangi.

The song has been released on the Ajab Records YouTube channel.
Pantha Kanai said that his dream has come true to sing in the lyrics of Shaheed Mahmud Jangi and the tunes of Pilu Khan.

He said, “Two legends of the music scene of Bangladesh – Shaheed Mahmud Jangi and Pilu Khan. Both of them are my utmost respect.

For decades, they have been enriching our music with their creativity. Shaheed Mahmud Jangi is the lyricist of numerous popular songs.”

And addressing Pilu Khan as his direct guru, Pantha Kanai said, “I used to play tabla when I was young. One day, I heard Renaissance songs at a concert at Chittagong Medical College.

Pilu Bhai was on drums. Seeing him, I decided that day that I would also play drums. Today, I have the fortune of singing an original song to Pilu Bhai’s tune.

This is a great achievement for me. I don’t know how the audience will feel, but the song will remain unforgettable for me forever.”
