Palak put on 12-day remand

The former ICT Minister, Zunaid Ahmed Palak , has been granted a 12-day remand by the court in connection with three cases in Narayanganj, with four days for each case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Belayet Hossain of Narayanganj granted the remand on Tuesday (February 25).

Earlier, police presented Palak before the court in connection with three murder and explosives cases filed at Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station and Siddhirganj Police Station.

Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Abdul Kayyum informed that the court granted a 12-day remand for questioning in the three murder and explosives cases from the two police stations.

On August 5, the government of Sheikh Hasina was overthrown in a student uprising.

On the afternoon of August 6, around 3 PM, Zunaid Ahmed Palak was detained in the VIP lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while attempting to board a flight to Delhi.

Additionally, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has issued an order to freeze the bank accounts of Zunaid Ahmed Palak and his wife, Arifa Jesmin Konika.
