Pakshi Divisional Railway has earned Tk 488 crore 86 lakh 31 thouand 289 from trains in the financial year 2022-23. Before this, in the fiscal year 2021-22, the income was Tk 452 crore 86 lakh 85 thousand 817. In one year, the revenue of railways increased by Tk36 cr. Pakshi Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Uddin confirmed the news of increase in income.
It is known that 40 inter-city, 31 mail trains and six local trains operate under Pakshi division of railways. Eight mail trains and 18 local trains are also closed. There are 175 railway stations in Pakshi division.
In the financial year 2022-23, 2 crore 17 lakh 58 thousand 924 passengers traveled in the passenger train.
The revenue of railways in the passenger sector is Tk 341 crore 86 lakh 85 thousand 957 . Also miscellaneous income including parcels in train is Tk 4 crore 99 lakh 73 thousand 386 .
On the other hand, in the fiscal year 2022-23, a total of 253 crore 88 lakh 70 thousand 333 kg of goods have been transported in 1 lakh 9 thousand 192 wagons. The income in goods transportation sector is 128 crore 72 lakh 53 thousand 185 taka. Also, the vending revenue of Railways has been 13 crore 27 lakh 18 thousand 761 taka.
Pakshi Divisional Railway Assistant Commercial Officer AKM Nurul Alam said that the income of Pakshi Divisional Railway has increased in the past year 2022-23 compared to the previous financial year.
Income has increased by Tk 36 crore compared to 2021-22 financial year. Stating that the import of goods by freight train is gradually increasing, he said that traders are transporting goods safely and cost-effectively by train.
He said that if the import of goods by government and private enterprises in the freight train increases, the income of the train will also increase.
