Pakistan stands in solidarity with Bangladeshi people

Pakistan has expressed its confidence that the resilient spirit and unity of the people of Bangladesh will lead them towards a harmonious future.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Wednesday said that Pakistan conveyed its solidarity with the people of Bangladesh amid the ongoing protests and unrest.

The statement said, “The Government and people of Pakistan stand in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh, sincerely hoping for peaceful and swift return to normalcy.”

“We are confident that the resilient spirit and unity of the Bangladeshi people will lead them towards a harmonious future”, added the statement.

It is to be noted that Pakistan has conveyed its support for Bangladeshi people as Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister and fled the country on Monday in the face of over two weeks of massive anti quota student movement.

Meanwhile, parliament was dissolved by the president on Tuesday. A 15-member interim government headed by Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus is set to take oath tonight.
