Pak AirSial gets green light to operate Bangladesh flights

Staff Reporter :

In a bid to enhancing regional connectivity and fostering closer people-to-people relations, Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) has granted approval to Pakistani private carrier AirSial to operate direct flights between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The move follows a similar approval granted earlier this year to Pakistan’s Fly Jinnah, signaling a renewed momentum in air travel and bilateral engagement between the two South Asian nations.

Air Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan, Chairman of CAAB, confirmed the development, told the media, “We gave clearance to AirSial to operate direct flights between Bangladesh and Pakistan. A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism in this regard.”

As part of standard aviation procedures, AirSial will now appoint a General Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh and apply for flight slots before launching operations.

Based in Sialkot, AirSial is a private airline with a fleet of six Airbus aircraft. Since beginning operations in 2015, the airline has steadily expanded its network.

Its entry into the Bangladeshi aviation market is expected to offer more choices for travelers, especially by providing convenient transit options through its network to popular international destinations, particularly in the Middle East.

Officials have highlighted that the move is not just about increasing flights, but about rebuilding long-dormant ties between the people of both countries.
With direct travel becoming easier, there is growing hope that cultural, educational, business, and familial exchanges will flourish.
