The administrative officer, retired Anser-VDP officer freedom fighter Shawkat Uddin Bhuiyan of the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj, has been temporarily suspended.
The order was issued by Mosque Management Committee President,also Deputy Commissioner (DC) Fauzia Khan on Sunday . Mosque management committee member secretary sadar UNO) Md. Ershad Mia confirmed the matter.
He said, “There were some specific allegations against Shawkat Uddin Bhuiyan. He has been temporarily suspended in light of the allegations.”
It is learned that the administrative officer of Pagla Mosque, freedom fighter Shawkat Uddin Bhuiyan, abused his power and got involved in various irregularities during the Sheikh Hasina’s government. Ì
Regarding the dismissal, Shawkat Uddin Bhuiyan said, “on Monday morning, UNO Md. Ershad Mia , prohibited me from coming to the mosque on my mobile phone.
I do not know why I was not allowed. However, I suspect that I was an Awami League member. I was prohibited from coming to the mosque due to such suspicion. I was appointed as an administrative officer of Pagla Mosque through an interview in 2015.”
