Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has said that Osman Hadi wanted to build a state founded on
justice (*insaf*). He noted that after the mass uprising, many people benefited in various ways, but Osman Hadi remained honest and fearless, continuing to work toward the goal of
establishing a justice-based state. Those who work for the country, he said, easily earn a place in people’s hearts—and Osman Hadi is a prime example. The massive turnout at Hadi’s funeral, Dr. Nazrul added, is rare in Bangladesh’s history. He made these remarks on Sunday (21 December) while delivering the presidential address at the 7th convocation of State University of Bangladesh, held in Kanchan, Rupganj, Narayanganj district. Calling on the nation to pray for the late Hadi, Dr. Nazrul said he believes Allah will grant Hadi the highest place in Paradise. He expressed his conviction that Hadi now resides in a better place than this transient world.

Speeches at the event were also delivered by University Grants Commission Chairman Professor Dr. S. M. A. Fayez; UGC member Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain; President of the State University Trust Board Dr. A. M. Shamim; and Vice-Chancellor of State University of Bangladesh Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, among others. At the convocation, degrees were awarded to 672 graduates and postgraduates from 10 departments. Additionally, three students received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, four received the Vice-Chancellor’s Silver Medal, and twenty students were honored with the Dean’s Award. Addressing recent attacks on institutions across the country, Dr. Asif Nazrul said the number of creative people in the country far exceeds that of the attackers. He emphasized that there are many young people willing to make sacrifices for the nation. Over the past 17 years, he said, the previous government had weakened the country’s legal system, education system, and economy in various ways. As a result, through the mass uprising of students and the public in 2024, the people of this country were freed from an exploitative group.
