Fish farming is going on in the source of Halda through one dam after another. The flow of water has stopped. Even where the river originates, the residents do not know that the place is the source of Halda.
There were no government buildings or signboards there for so long. As a result, it remains unknown to people. The place in question is Hasukpara area of Patachhara Union No 2 of Ramgarh Upazila of Khagrachari Hill District. Its geographical location is about 6 km from Nakapa Bazar on Khagrachari-Ramgarh road. Due to the remoteness of the town, common people do not go there much. For this reason, the government does not have any specific plans for the area. So the origin of Halda is very much unprotected.
In this opportunity, fishing is going on with the dam within a few kilometers of the source of the river. The river is getting blocked by mountain clear water stream. It was in such a situation that the Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) put up the first signboard at the source of unprotected Halda.
It was recently established by a private development agency. Those concerned with Halda have expressed their satisfaction.
