The stage play ‘Pulsirat’ by the theatre group Prachyanat will be performed at the capital’s Women’s Association today (August 22). The performance of the play will begin at 7:00pm at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of the Women’s Association.
‘Pulsirat’ is the 35th production of Prachyanat. Prachyanat said that the story of the play revolves around three people with bad luck. In the scorching heat of August, a lorry moves forward on the desert road, scorched by the sun.
The three people with bad luck run away in the hope of a new prosperous life. With the relentless heat of the sun on their heads, their feet burning in the hot desert sand, and their minds burning with the burning desire for a new life, their lives flow. Sometimes it feels like this road is like ‘Pulsirat’.
The play, based on Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani’s novel ‘Men in the Sun’, has been translated by Masumul Alam, dramatized by Monirul Islam Rubel, and directed by Kazi Taufiqul Islam Emon.
Azad Abul Kalam, Shahriar Sajeeb, Monirul Islam Rubel and Saiful Islam Journal will play different roles in the play. The set is designed by Shahinur Rahman, music is planned by Neel Kamrul and lighting is planned by Babar Khadem.
