“Bashonto Utshab” (Spring Festival) organised by Dhaka University Cultural Society was celebrated amid festivity and fanfare. The festival was held on Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) premises on the campus. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Akhtaruzzaman was present as the chief guest at the programme held recently. While speaking DU VC said, “Every nation’s most powerful reflection is its cultural activities. The more we’ll keep ourselves connected with it, the more the spirit of Liberation War, secularity, humanity, liberal moral values will spread among us.” Actor Lucky Imam, dancer Sharmila Bandapadhyay and recite artist Vashwar Bandapadhyay were honoured with lifetime achievement awards from the society. Moderator of the society Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury presided over the event. The function was also addressed, among others, by Adviser of TSC Prof Shoumitra Shekhar, DUCSU Assistant General Secretary Saddam Hussain and President of the society Ragib Rahman.
