BD National Hindu Students Grand Alliance
A rally organised by Bangladesh National Hindu Students Grand Alliance was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday. In the function the speakers urged the authority concerned to change the date of elections of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) as Saraswati Puja, a religious festival of the Hindu community will be held on January 30. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the alliance Partha Sarathi Roy, its Joint Secretary Raghunath Baroi, Organising Secretary Madhab Das and its Women Affairs Secretary Happy Biswas. President of the alliance Sanjeeb Boidya presided over the event.
Bangladesh Animal Nutrition Society
A discussion organised by Bangladesh Animal Nutrition Society was held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the city’s Farmgate. State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Ashraf urged the poultry and livestock farmers to consider the public interest along with their own in rearing cattle and poultry to check antibiotic use and other harmful ingredients in food production. He said the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken all steps to ensure the safe food for the country’s people. The function was also addressed, among others, by Additional Secretary of the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Kazi Wasi Uddin and Director General of the Department of Livestock Services Dr Abdul Jabbar Shikdar. President of the society Prof Ali Akbar presided over the event.
