An old woman was killed and two persons were injured in two separate road mishaps in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Saleha Begum, 75, wife of late Sabdul Mondal of Gobinpur village under Kansat union of Shibganj upazila and the injured were identified as land official Abdul Mannan, 60 and his son Mehedi Hasan, 25.
Police and local sources said, getting down from a bus while Saleha was crossing the road at Academy square under Shibganj municipality at around 8-30 am, a Sonamasjid bound truck hit her killing her on the spot.
Being informed, police from Shibganj thana rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body. Later police handed over the dead body to her family.
Before this at around 8-15 am, Abdul Mannan and his son Mehedi were injured as they were hit by a passenger bus at Shibganj Upazila Health Complex area. They were going to Shibganj from their house at Kalupur under the same upazila by a motor cycle. After first aid at the upazila health complex they were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
