One person held with fake Akij bidi at Chargasa Shibpur bazar in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district recently.
Local people said, several dishonest traders are used to sale fake Akij bidi there manufactured in Rangpur, Pabna and Kushtia and some other districts.
Government lost huge tariff for these dishonest people’s selling of fake bidi with fake band roles.
One information, a raid has been conducted in roads closed to Chargasa Shibpur bazar and detained a person named Morsalin with a CNG driven taxi full of huge numbers of fake Akij bidi.
Detained Morsalin confessed that the fake bidi was sent from Rangpur by former Akij bidi factory’s wing territory officer Afsan Chowdhury.
Akij bidi factory’s Assistant Manager (in charge) Md. Abdul Wadud said that are on preparation of filing a case in Akhaura police station against Morsalin and some others involved in the offense.
