Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested a man suspecting his involvement with militant groups Islamic State (IS) and Al-Nusra from capital`s Kamalapur area. The detainee is identified as Samiun Rahman, a Bangladeshi-origin British (UK) citizen. Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media wing, confirmed the arrest of Samiun at around 9:00am on Monday. Masudur Rahman said, “Tipped off, a DB police team conducted drives at various places in the capital Dhaka in a bid to arrest IS suspects as they have the secret information”.
