Office of teacher accused of leaking exam questions sealed
CoU Correspondent :
The office of Assistant Professor Kazi M. Anisul Islam from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Comilla University (CoU) has been sealed amid allegations of leaking exam questions and answer scripts.
The action was taken on Tuesday (March 18) around 10:30 AM, following instructions from the university registrar.
Regarding the matter, Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain stated, “The office has been sealed in the interest of the investigation. It will be reopened after the investigation is completed.”
Professor Dr. Zakir Sayadullah, the head of the investigation committee, declined to comment while the inquiry was ongoing.
The controversy began on the night of March 11 when an anonymous email was sent to the university administration and journalists, alleging that exam questions for all courses in the ongoing third-year, second-semester final examination of the 2020-21 batch had been leaked.
Following the allegations, the university administration suspended the semester final exams for that batch on March 13. The accused teacher was placed on compulsory leave and banned from entering the campus during the investigation. Additionally, a five-member committee was formed to probe the matter.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
