The newly elected Chairman-Vice Chairman of Mirzapur Upazila Parishad of Tangail and the Female Vice Chairman of the reserved women’s seat have been sworn in.
On Thursday (July 4) the oath ceremony of the newly elected chairman-vice chairmen was held in a festive atmosphere at the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner’s office. Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul Islam appeared as the chief guest in the ceremony and administered the oath to the chairman-vice chairmen. Officials of the Divisional Commissioner’s office were present on the occasion.
Mirzapur Upazila Parishad Chairman Barrister Tahrim Hossain Shimant, Vice Chairman Azaharul Islam and Female Vice Chairman Mahbuba Sharin of reserved women’s seat took oath. Mirzapur Upazila Awami League President Mir Marif Mahmud, Bangabandhu Sena Parishad Central Committee General Secretary and Tangail District Awami League leader Dr. Major (Retd.) Khandkar A Hafiz, Tangail District Awami League Executive Member Rafiur Rahman Khan Yusufzai Sani, Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary and Jubo League convener Md. Shamim Al Mamun, Chairman of Upazila BRDB Zahirul Islam Zahir, Vice Chairman Abid Hossain Shanto, former President of Upazila Chhatra League Saddam Hossain, General Secretary Saiful Islam Siam and Chotro League leader Wakil Ahmed and others.
On the other hand, at the same time, newly elected chairman of Basail Upazila Parishad of Tangail Kazi Alid, vice chairman journalist M Shahidul Islam, female vice chairman of reserved women’s seat Mocha Rekha Begum, newly elected chairman of Sakhipur upazila parishad principal Said Azad alias Abu Said Mia, vice Chairman Md. Shibli Sadiq and Akhi Ataur, female vice-chairman in the reserved women’s seat.
