Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent :

When the surroundings are burning in the intense heat, suddenly huge winter fog appeared at dawn in Ishwardi district. Instead of day light in the morning on Friday and Saturday, various areas of the upazila surrounded by the Padma River were suddenly covered in thick fog. There was no way to tell whether it was winter or hot summer by looking at the state of nature. However, unable to cope with the heat of the sun, nature returns to its normal form by removing the fog cover. In such an unusual form of nature, many questions have spread in the public mind. Is the varied weather losing its naturalness and taking revenge for some reason unknown to mankind. Or is nature losing its normality and behaving abnormally.
Locals said that the area was suddenly covered with thick fog as the morning light spread. It was covered with a thick winter-like fog, so that no one could be clearly seen even a short distance away. After about an hour and a half, the hot light of the sun came out. However, many people capture such images of fog on their mobile phones.
Ishwardi has experienced a sudden change in weather amid the ongoing heat wave. Ishwardi has been experiencing heat wave for the past 21 days. In between, there was a moderate heat wave from April 13 to April 16. After April 17 to May 4, intense and very intense heat wave prevails. On April 30, the highest temperature in the history of Ishwardi was recorded at 43.2 degrees.
Amirul Islam, a retired teacher of Rooppur, said that the foggy nature suddenly came to his attention in the morning. At that time the weather felt a bit cold. He thinks this is unusual. But after the fog cleared, the sun came out. It’s windy like every day. There is no normal movement of people on roads, markets, and ghats.
Nazmul Haque Ranjan, assistant temperature observer of the Meteorological Office, said that such a sudden dense fog during the temperature of 40 to 42 degrees indicates abnormality of the weather. Usually such fog is seen in Paush and Magha months.
Fog is unprecedented in such hot summer weather. Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Mita Sarkar said that this fog has not affected the crops in the field.
