The Department of Environmental Science and Management (ESM) at North South University successfully hosted a special outreach event on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in celebration of Earth Day. The event welcomed a visiting team of students and faculty members from Notre Dame College, Dhaka, including members of the college’s renowned Nature Study Club.
The gathering, held in NAC 517 (Syndicate Hall) p.m., provided a unique platform for interaction between students and faculty from both institutions. The Notre Dame College delegation comprised 26 students and was accompanied by faculty member Mr. Biplob Deb. They were joined by NSU’s active environmental club, the Earth Club of NSU.
The program commenced with opening remarks and introductions, setting the stage for insightful presentations. Faculty members from the ESM department shared their expertise and perspectives on critical environmental issues. This was followed by presentations from the NSU ESM student body and the NSU Earth Club, highlighting their initiatives and involvement in environmental conservation efforts. A lively Q&A session allowed students from both institutions to engage directly with presenters, fostering a deeper understanding and exchange of ideas. The event concluded with a guided campus tour for the visiting team, showcasing NSU’s facilities and green initiatives.
This collaborative event served as a significant step in celebrating Earth Day and strengthening ESM’s outreach efforts. By bringing together passionate young minds from both Notre Dame College and North South University, the event aimed to inspire the next generation of environmentally conscious learners and leaders.
