North South University’s (NSU) Office of External Affairs successfully hosted the IELTS Scholarship Award Ceremony on Monday, celebrating the achievements of outstanding students in English proficiency.
This year’s IELTS Scholarship Winner, Syeda Fatema Rahman, was recognised for her remarkable accomplishment. Sharing her experience, Fatema expressed that her IELTS preparation played a pivotal role in securing admission to the prestigious University of Chicago, says a press release.
The ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, who presented the award. The scholarship includes a cash prize of BDT 25,000, acknowledging academic excellence.
Speaking at the event, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury congratulated the awardee and emphasised the significance of English proficiency in today’s global education landscape. Mr. Maxim Raimann, Exams Director of British Council Bangladesh, was also present at the ceremony, highlighting the strong collaboration between NSU and the British Council in promoting global opportunities for students. He expressed that initiative like the IELTS Scholarship encourage students to aim higher and reflect the transformative impact of quality English language education.
