A seminar on regional employment creation and inclusive rural development tourism was held in Sherpur, Bogura, jointly organised by Bangladesh Tourism Board and Rural Development Academy on Sunday.
Director (Training) Md. Ferdous Hossain Khan presided over the day-long seminar at the RDA conference room.
Director General of Rural Development Academy Dr. AKM Oli Ullah spoke as the chief guest. Speaking as the chief guest, he said that tourism is a potential sector in Bangladesh, and the northern region is an area with immense potential for tourism.
Therefore, if the northern region can be taken forward through tourism, the country will also move forward. The special guest speakers were Md. Jabed Ahmed, an expert in tourism economics, Md. Abu Selim Mahmud-ul Hasan, Joint Secretary, Director (Administration and Finance) of Bangladesh Tourism Board, and Mohammad Rafiuzzaman, President of Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOA).
The keynote address was reviewed by former RDA Director AKM Zakaria, Assistant Professor of National University Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan, Regional Director of the Directorate of Tourism AKM Saifur Rahman, Assistant Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management Department of Rajshahi University Saju Sardar, and theater personality Rubel Lodi. At the beginning of the program, Dahuk Director Magfi Reza Siddique discussed the keynote address. RDA Joint Director Dr. Maqsud Alam Khan presented the welcome speech and keynote address at the seminar.
