A seminar and commemorative programme was held at college auditorium on Monday on the occasion of 28 years of North East Medical College.
North East Medical College Managing Director and North East Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury chaired the event and North East Medical College Governing Body Chairman Professor Dr. Mohammad Afzal Mia spoke as chief guest.
Chairman of Northeast Medical Private Limited Professor Dr. Syed spoke as a special guest in the event. Musa MA Qayyum, former chairman Prof. Dr. Azizur Rahman, Secretary Abdul Waheed, North East Medical College Vice Principal Prof. Dr. AFM Nazmul Islam, Hostel Superintendent and Director of Northeast Medical Private Limited Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam.
Dr. Muhammad Umar Bin Abdul Aziz and Dr. Sharmin Sultana Sapna jointly presented the welcome speech in the program by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammad Bashir Uddin. Prof. Dr. Nahid Dilwara, Abu Ahmad Siddiqui and others spoke. Doctors, students and staff of North East Medical College Hospital were present in the event.
In the speech of the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Afzal Mia said, nothing can be done alone in life. Similarly, with the cooperation of all, North East Medical College has been able to reach its desired goal in a very short time. Mentioning that those who have given labor and money for this college since its inception will be immortalized in the pages of history, he said, North East Medical College will be a milestone in the field of medical services for the people of Sylhet.
Principal Professor Dr. Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury said that the journey of this college started 28 years ago. Meanwhile, the status of North East Medical College has been upgraded to second. He expressed hope that this college will be upgraded to 1st grade very soon.
