In2Synergy aims to connect students in Bangladesh to reputed global institutions abroad, in an effort to facilitate better communication of opportunities in higher education. To inform students regarding the many benefits and waivers that await them, In2Synergy in collaboration with North South University Pharmaceutical Club and the School of Health & Life Sciences held an insightful Synergy Session at North South University on 13th October 2022. Joydipa Chowdhury, Sr. Executive, Business Development, In2Synergy expressed her pleasure in returning to her alma mater, NSU, with the intention of sharing the many services they provide.
Those present were enlightened on educational opportunities available to them at institutions in the United Kingdom, namely University of Portsmouth and Nottingham Trent University. Amran Mofiz, the Bangladesh Regional Adviser of University of Portsmouth (UoP), England delivered a presentation focusing on their offered courses, notable accreditations, admission process, as well as scholarship opportunities. He further elaborated on the science programs offered by UoP in addition to the attractive scholarships and research-based courses available. Highlighting their collaboration with NSU, students were delighted to hear of the funding opportunities provided, including a £1600 scholarship that all students of NSU may avail.
To elucidate opportunities at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), Md. Abu Al Nahiyan, Assistant Adviser (Bangladesh) spoke of the large intake of students from North South University annually. A common challenge that many students face abroad is the high living and accommodation expenses in the UK, which makes Nottingham a lucrative location for students seeking a more affordable option. NTU has a dedicated employability team which provides job placement support for a duration of 3 years post-graduation, enabling its high employability of 97%.
All students applying for foreign education are aware of the various eligibility tests required to secure a spot in their desired education program. Many students are intimidated by the process of these tests, and their concerns were addressed by Anwar Naser, Country Manager, Bangladesh of Educational Testing Services (ETS). His presentation aimed to streamline the process and evaluator sections of these tests. His speech also elaborated on the common misconceptions many students hold regarding GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and IELTS. NSU students were informed of the free registration of GRE and TOEFL masterclasses provided by ETS.
The Honorable Dean of School of Health & Life Sciences, Dr. Hasan Mahmud Reza and Session Chair offered his concluding remarks, sharing the recent milestone achieved by NSU, ranking at a top position in Bangladesh, ranked by Times Higher Education (THE). A token of appreciation was presented to the Session Chair on behalf of the team present from In2Synergy.
