Awami League Presidium Member and Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Sunday warned that no one will be spared if people are held hostage over the price of daily essentials during the holy month of Ramadan.
He issued the warning while inaugurating the month-long sale of essential commodities at affordable prices in front of Shyamoli Math on Sunday morning, reports media.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak said: “I warned them that the market price which is supposed to be Sadaqah in the month of Ramadan, on the contrary, they have chosen the path of earning by holding people hostage. No one will be spared by challenging the party.”
Referring to the market concept, he said: “When traders buy a cauliflower from a farmer for Tk10 at the Nimsar market in Comilla, it becomes Tk50 when it reaches the city market.
