‘None can destroy ambience of harmony, friendship’

Calling the attackers at shrines and temples ‘criminals’, Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain has commented that they ‘have no religious identity’.

The advisor spoke after visiting the Gol Pahar Kali Temple and crematorium in Chattagram on Tuesday.

He urged everyone to be vigilant so that no one can destroy the atmosphere of harmony and camaraderie.

At the same time, he urged to ensure a festive atmosphere for the upcoming Durga Puja.

He also advised to seek the cooperation of people of any religion if there is a fear of an attack on the mandap.

The religious advisor said, “Some isolated incidents have occurred. It is quite politically motivated. They also attack shrines.

They also try to desecrate temples. We have to be vigilant. So that no one can destroy our harmonious environment.”

Addressing the people of Sanatan Dharma, the religious advisor said, “Durga Puja will be celebrated in the coming days, install CCTV cameras will be instatted in the mandap, and temples.

Our security forces are active. Detectives will also be active in various places.

Stating that the government has taken overall preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja, the advisor said, “We have, ensured security arrangements.”

We have held a meeting with the Home Ministry. Deepak Kumar Palit, trustee of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, and leaders of the temple committee were present at the function.
