After creating a storm at the box office with the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan is returning with a new film inspired by the ancient Greek epic. The film is titled The Odyssey, based on Homer’s legendary epic, and is set to release on July 17, 2026.
The most surprising news is that advance ticket sales for the film are beginning a full year before its release-starting from July 17 this year. This marks an unprecedented move in Hollywood history. However, there’s a special condition behind this.
Advance ticket sales will begin only at theaters equipped with IMAX 70mm screens. For other formats, audiences will have to wait until a few months before the release. Universal Pictures has already begun promoting the film.
A one-minute special teaser for The Odyssey is being shown in theaters before screenings of Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman. Although the teaser hasn’t been released online yet, the glimpse shown in theaters is already sparking audience excitement.
