No visa required to visit Pakistan

The Bangladeshi tourists and business travelers can now pay a visit to Pakistan without any visa.

The Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Syed Maroof, confirmed it while holding a meeting with the adviser to the Home Ministry Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Monday.

The Pakistan government has recently brought changes in its visa policy from August 14, stating that tourists and business travelers from 126 countries will benefit from free visas to visit Pakistan.

Last July, Pakistani authorities announced upcoming changes to their visa policies, including a significant waiver of visa fees for visitors from 126 countries.

According to media report, Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif said that, “This easing of the visa regime will help make Pakistan an attractive destination for investments and tourism”.

Meanwhile, during the meeting, the High Commissioner also talked about an array of issues including flood rehabilitation, enhancement of mutual relation, ease of issuing visa, resumption of direct flight, cooperation in agricultural research, and so on.

The adviser in the beginning of their discussion highlighted the recent flood in the eastern region of Bangladesh.

Then the High Commissioner assured the support of Pakistan government in this regard.

Mentioning the impact of the student-people movement in Bangladesh, the High Commissioner stated that the Pakistani citizens also rejoiced in Pakistan by waving flags.

The adviser said that the interim government is committed to curb corruption and to contain the spiraling prices of essential items.

The High Commissioner called upon the interim government to accelerate the bilateral relations as it was dampened in the last 15 years.
