The advisor said, we are trying to further expand the fleet of BSC ships.
BSC is going to buy two ships on the spot with its own money, which will be bulk carriers. BSC’s MD is giving daily updates on where ships are available. We will not buy any ship under five years old.
There has already been news of two Japanese ships, which will definitely be good. We will decide after seeing the ship, what will happen or not. He said, it is a big deal that a government organization in Bangladesh has returned a loan of 5.5 billion taka.
This has been possible for you (shareholders). BSC has given good dividends in the bad times of the stock market. . Chittagong Port will be a matter of pride for the people of Chittagong. We will try to create job opportunities for our male and female cadets and sailors through BSC.
For this, ships are needed. I hope you will get good news in the next AGM. BSC has planned to buy two ships with its own financing within the next one year. An agreement to build four ships with China will be signed in January. These four ships will be added to the fleet within three years.
BSC Managing Director Commodore Mahmudul Malek said, BSC is a state organisation. We want to take this organisation to a unique level. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, BSC earned 596 crore 19 lakh taka, spent 311 crore 60 lakh taka. Net profit was 249 crore 69 lakh taka. Which is the highest in history. I have paid off 475 crore taka of government debt.
