Staff Correspondent :
Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and Labor, Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain, said that there is no scope for even the slightest doubt regarding the upcoming national election. He said they are doing everything possible to ensure a level playing field for all candidates. He made the remarks on Wednesday (10 December) while speaking to journalists after inspecting a ship under construction at Karnaphuli Ship Builders in Narayanganj port. At the time, Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain further said
that the fallen autocratic regime had destroyed every sector. After the student–public uprising, the current interim government took charge. Since taking over a completely devastated administration, the government has been working to reform each sector and restore confidence among the people. He added that the Ministry of Shipping and Labor, which was in a fragile state, has largely recovered. Resolving labor unrest over various
demands and freeing the rivers from illegal occupation were the biggest challenges. During the inspection, the adviser was accompanied by Shipping Ministry Secretary Dr.Nurunnahar Chowdhury, District Commissioner Md. Raihan Kabir, Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman Munshi, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ms. Shivani Sarkar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rahima Akhtar Iti, Officer-in-Charge Golam Mukta Ashraf Uddin, and other officials.
