The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will commence on April 10, 2025, as per the original schedule, despite demands from a group of students to postpone the exams.

According to the Dhaka Education Board, there is no possibility of delaying the exams, and all necessary preparations have been completed. Professor S. M. Kamal Uddin Haider, Chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the Dhaka Board, urged students to focus on their final preparations rather than being influenced by rumors on social media.

Prof. Kamal Uddin stated, “The preparations for the exams are complete, and the necessary materials have already been dispatched to the exam centers.

At this stage, postponing the exams is not an option. Instead of engaging in unnecessary protests, students should concentrate on their studies.”

He further added that a small group is spreading misinformation on Facebook, attempting to create confusion.

He assured that the majority of students are in favor of sitting for the exams as per the existing schedule.

Earlier in the day, a group of SSC candidates under the banner of “SSC Examinees 2025” issued a press release, requesting a one-month postponement of the exams.

They also demanded a three to four-day gap between each subject’s exam, citing difficulties in preparing due to Ramadan fasting and Eid holidays.
