No room for militancy in Bangladesh: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reiterated her government’s firm stance against militancy, declaring that there is no room for such activities in Bangladesh. The Prime Minister’s statement came during a national security briefing held at the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday.

“Our government is committed to eradicating militancy and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. There is no place for militant activities in our country,” she asserted.

Prime Minister Hasina emphasized the importance of community involvement in the fight against extremism, urging citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

“We must all work together to maintain peace and stability. The government will take all necessary measures to combat and prevent any form of militancy,” she added.

The Prime Minister’s remarks follow a series of recent initiatives aimed at strengthening national security and countering extremist threats. These include enhanced surveillance, community policing, and increased cooperation with international partners.

She also praised the efforts of security forces in maintaining law and order and preventing militant activities, highlighting several successful operations that have thwarted potential threats.

Prime Minister Hasina concluded her address by reaffirming her government’s dedication to upholding peace, security, and development in Bangladesh.
