City Desk :
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Abdur Rahman on Sunday said that there is no plan to import sacrificial animals on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha as the government is trying to reinforce the domestic farmers to increase the meat production in the country.
“The government is working to increase meat production by encouraging and reinforcing domestic farmers. We are also trying to keep meat prices within the purchasing capacity of the people,” he said, reports BSS.
The minister said this while addressing the orientation programme of the newly appointed livestock and fisheries officers (cadre) under the 41st BCS examination at the BCS Livestock Academy Auditorium here on the outskirts of the capital.
