BUDGET FINANCIAL YEAR 2024-25: No import tax on dengue test kits

Due to the rise in dengue cases in Bangladesh, the budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year includes a tax-free import facility for dengue test kits.
Additionally, it has been recommended to extend the concessional facility for the import of raw materials needed for the production of medicines, medical equipment, and healthcare materials in the new fiscal year.
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali presented the proposed budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year amounting to Tk797,000 crore (Tk7.97 trillion) in parliament on Thursday.
This was his first budget unveiling and the first budget after the reelection of the Awami League government in January.
