No impact of Jamaat hartal in Port City

Jamaat called dawn to dusk hartal passed off peacefully and the city was freed from any impact of hartal. Jamaat called the hartal across the country protesting the execution of Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Md. Mojaheed.
Transports of all types seen plying in city roads without any resistance by the hartal supporters . All govt, non-govt , banks and other private office function normally .The attendance in govt offices was as usual.
Post markets and kitchen markets remained opened during hartal period, different sources said. No untoward incidents ye to be reported till writing this report.
Meanwhile Awami League and its front organisations took positions at 23 points in the city and continued their anti-hartal rallies.
On the other hand, metropolitan police authority has taken tougher measures against any sorts of violence, anarchy or sabotage by the hartal picketers.
Police sources said additional 1700 police forces have been deployed in the city beside the six platoons BGB members. District police sources said additional 100 forces have been deployed in each thana of the district beside the existing forces and specifically more 10 platoons police forces have been put in Raozan upazila , the birth place of death row convict Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury .

Port sources said port activities is being operated normally inside and outside port area . CEPZ sources said all activities in the CEPZ and KEPZ are functioning without any resistances and the workers joined their duties in due time.
