Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Saturday assured that no election official will receive unlawful instructions during the 13th National Parliament elections, nor will they be asked to act in favor of any candidate.
“We will issue necessary directives during the election, but none of them will be illegal.
No order will be given to favor anyone, nor to work against anyone. Every directive will strictly follow the law and electoral rules,” he said.
The CEC made the remarks while addressing the Election Officers Conference 2025 held at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, organized by the Bangladesh Election Commission Officers Association.
Four election commissioners and the EC secretary also attended the event as special guests.
Nasir Uddin emphasized, “Our goal is to ensure that you perform your duties properly.”
Referring to the Chief Adviser’s ongoing visit to the United States to attend the UN General Assembly, he said, “I saw him meet leaders of many countries there.
In his speeches, he pledged that Bangladesh will hold a fair and historic election.”
“The Chief Adviser has placed his full trust in the Election Commission. It is our responsibility to uphold that trust. Regardless of what has happened in the past, we must now prove that we are capable.
With your cooperation, I am confident we will conduct a free and credible election, Insha Allah,” the CEC added.
