The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement is set to unveil “July Revolution Proclamation” at the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday to uphold the uprising of students and the masses. However, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has clarified that the government has no involvement with this event.

He made these remarks while briefing to the media in front of the Chief Adviser’s Residence Jamuna on Sunday afternoon. He said, “It is a private initiative. We are looking at it as a private initiative. The government has no involvement in it.”

Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder said, “Until the proclamation is officially made, the matter remains unclear to us. Until then, it is not possible for us to provide a clear statement to you.”

Regarding the Secretariat issue, he said, “At the moment, the Secretariat is a crime scene. The government is conducting an investigation into the fire incident with utmost priority. To facilitate the investigation, we have sought cooperation from everyone, including the media. We believe journalists will support us in this effort. As part of this cooperation, a temporary decision has been made.

“We have provided immediate clarification that this decision is purely temporary and necessary for the investigation. To protect the suspected evidence of the crime, it is important to limit access, otherwise, the evidence might be compromised. This decision was made to ensure a fair investigation in the country’s best interest. Furthermore, this issue is linked to national security.”

Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor Apurba Jahangir, Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad, and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi was present, among others.
