N’ganj’s writers awarded Rabindra Sahitya Samman

Two talented writers from Narayanganj, Sabbir Ahmed Sentu and Nazrul Islam Shantu, have been awarded the Rabindra Sahitya Sammanna 2025. Recently, the country’s renowned publishing house ‘Bangali’ awarded the honor to the talented duo from the dandy city of Narayanganj based on various reviews.
Among them, this announcement was made in view of Sabbir Ahmed Sentu’s contribution to spoken literature and Nazrul Islam Shantu’s contribution to poetry. The award will be presented to them at a discussion meeting and literary awards ceremony, said its publisher, poet Arif Nazrul. It is worth mentioning that Sabbir Ahmed Sentu is a proud son of Narayanganj Port. In his personal life, he is the editor of the daily Bijoy Patrika and the small literary paper ‘Dhruv’.
The novel “Two Eyes Full of Dreams” and the play “Short Script” were published at this year’s 2025 book fair. Earlier, his other 3 books were published in 1993, titled “Shatrato Shlogan 1400”, in 1997, titled “Sneher Nakshatra” and in 2024, titled “Chharar Bullet”.Besides, Nazrul Islam Shantu is a resident of Dharmaganj area under Fatulla police station of the same district. Shantu is a homeopathic doctor by profession. His book of poems titled Jadur Tak on a Grandfather’s Head created quite a stir at the Ekushey Book Fair in 2024. Earlier, numerous other poems and poetry books of his were published, including Agun Jhara 100 Choras, Mayer Aanchal, Lal Sabujer Gaon, Agnikantha, and Nidrita.
