In protest against the brutal atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and Rafah, and to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people, Narayanganj City BNP and its affiliated organizations held a rally.
Alongside Muslims, members of the Hindu community also joined the rally spontaneously in a show of unity.
On Thursday, as part of a centrally announced program, the rally began at 4 PM in front of the Hosiery Community Center in Mission Para.
It marched through the city’s main roads and concluded in front of the Nagar Bhaban (City Building) in Nitaiganj. Participants carried national flags, party flags, Palestinian flags, and various placards.
At the end of the rally, Narayanganj City BNP Convener Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan said, “We stand with our Palestinian brothers and sisters. Under the direction of imperialist America, the Zionist Israeli forces are committing genocide against the Palestinian people.
We’ve taken to the streets to protest this injustice. We hope democratic nations around the world will raise their voices too.”
Other speakers called for the boycott of Israeli products, an end to the indiscriminate killing of children and civilians in Gaza and Rafah, justice for Israeli leaders accused of war crimes, and urged the international community to support the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
Presided over by Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan and conducted by Member Secretary Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, the rally was attended by Advocate Zakir Hossain, Senior Joint Convener of Narayanganj City BNP; Mashukul Islam Rajib, Joint Convener of the District BNP; Advocate Sarker Humayun Kabir, Joint Convener of the City BNP; along with leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliated organizations, and people from various walks of life.
