Next polls will be milestone: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin said that the upcoming election marks an important milestone for the nation.
He said, “On the one hand, the whole world is watching. On the other hand, our people across the nation are eagerly waiting to exercise their right to vote.”
In a video uploaded on the Election Commission Facebook Page on Sunday, he said, “Our young generation, especially those who will be casting their votes for the very first time and their enthusiasm make us hopeful.
Your vote is your power. Exercise your right to vote and encourage others to do the same.”
Drawing attention to the Bangladesh expatriates, Election Commissioner Brig Gen Abul Fazal Md Sanaulla said “The Election Commission is working diligently to ensure for the first time that you can cast your votes from abroad. I hope this initiative will be successful with the cooperation of you all.”
Election Commissioner Abdur Rahamanel Masud said, “A single mistake and any false information can disrupt the environment for a fair election and hinder the democratic process.
It is our collective responsibility not to be misled by blindly believing any news. News must be collected from genuine and reliable sources.
If necessary, one should directly contact the election commission office or the appropriate authorities.
“Every citizen of Bangladesh hopes for a credible election. Therefore, ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, all candidates, public representatives and citizens of all walks of life are urged to strictly adhere to the election code of conduct and all relevant election laws and regulations,” Election Commissioner Md Anwarul Islam Sarker said.
Election Commissioner Begum Tahmida Ahmad said, “In Bangladesh, the total population of men and women is almost equal, our election process must be gender friendly.
Every citizen of the country, whether male or female has the right to vote, and none of us has the right to deprive anyone of that right.”
“For the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, we are determined to ensure that every citizen can cast their vote to the fullest extent. The Election Commission is working tirelessly to achieve this goal,” she added.
Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said, “As you know, the 13th Parliamentary election will be held in the first half of the next February.
In any election, coordination is a massive undertaking and it requires the participation and cooperation of every individual.”
“In this context, the Election Commission is making all necessary preparations. We are committed to delivering a good election as a gift to the nation, and we count on your support,” he added.
