Five Commercial banks recently signed a deal with Bangladesh Bank (BB) regarding ‘Refinancing Scheme against term financing for Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSME)’ at BB head office. 1. Emranul Huq, Managing Director & CEO of Dhaka Bank Limited 2. Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of Mercantile Bank Limited 3. Mamoon Mahmood Shah, Managing Director & CEO of NRB Bank Limited, 4. Mr. Khondoker Rashed Maqsood, Managing Director & CEO of Standard Bank Limited 5. ABM Mokammel Hoque Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of Union Bank Limited, lead their respective organizations while the central bank’s Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder, lead his side. Abu Farah Md. Nasser, Deputy Governor, Md. Obaidul Hoque, Executive Director and Md. Jaker Hossain, Director of SME & SPD Department of BB, were also present.

Md. Rabiul Alam, Head of ADC Division of Pubali Bank Limited and Engr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, Company Secretary of Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO) Limited, exchange documents after signing an agreement at the bank’s head office in the capital recently. Under the deal, customers of DESCO will able to pay their prepaid & postpaid electricity bill through the bank Internet Banking/PI Banking Apps. The bill will be updated in DESCO database in real time. Top officials from both sides were present.
