PM visites Brothers Furniture stall at DITF : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the stall of Brothers Furniture at the 27th Dhaka International Trade Fair. She visited Brothers’ stall after the opening of the fair and inspected their various products. At that time, the Head of Marketing and Sales of Brothers Furniture Md. Monirul Islam Bakshi was present with the Prime Minister and informed them about the quality of the furniture. Prime Minister praised every product of Brothers Furniture, said a press release.

The UAE Embassy in Dhaka, in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent and UAE AID, has distributed 9000 blankets in Bangladesh to 2,000 orphan children in Dhaka and Tongi. Blankets were also distributed to 7,000 poor rural families in Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Barisal divisions. Humaid Mohammed Abdulla Darwish Altamimi, Charge d’ Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Dhaka, distributing blankets to the slum people in the capital on Monday. Officials of the embassy and Emirates Red Crescent were present.

Rajat Diwakar, Country Head of Marico Bangladesh Limited, receives the 9th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence in the ‘Manufacturing’ category from Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment adviser Salman F Rahman, at a function held at capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel recently. Md. Sahabuddin, Company Secretary and Musficul Haider, Head of Accounting and Reporting of Marico Bangladesh Limited, were present.

Different commercials banks signed deal with Bangladesh Bank to distribute loans to concerned farmers to boost production in the agricultural sector under at 4 percent profit rate under the Tk.50 billion Refinance Scheme aimed to ensuring food security of the country. In presence of the Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder, Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Director of Agriculture Credit Department of the central bank and concerned Managing Director of the commercials banks signed the agreement at BB head office in the capital recently. Banks are 1. Union Bank Limited 2. Shimanto Bank Limited 3. Mercantile Bank Limited 4. AB Bank Limited 5. Modhumoti Bank Limited 6. Prime Bank Limited
