Green Gems International School organized the Annual Athletics and Picnic Day at Barnochata Resort, Savar recently with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. Students, parents and faculties of the school participated in this event. The program began with the welcome speech by its Principal Anita Mondal. The Sports Day was inaugurated by Surah Fateha with releasing balloons bearing the school’s name, pigeon releasing and torch run by a student. National anthem was sung. Chief guest Jacob Mondal hosted the national flag and the school flag. There was a wonderful Ribbon display and March past by the students. All the classes had races and the winners took the medal from the chief guest and principal. There were races for parents and teachers. After lunch, the raffle draw lottery excited the students. Principal announced the end of the program with thanks giving speech.

The closing ceremony of a six-month long foundation training course for the newly inducted teachers of Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur held at the Liaison Office of BRU in the city on Sunday. BRU VC and Director of Dr. Wazed Research and Training Institute (WRTI), Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah chaired the programme where Senior Secretary of Education Ministry Md. Sohorab Hossain was present as chief guest. The programme was moderated by Dr Saber Ahmed Chowdhury, Member, Board of Governors of WRTI.
