Day-long symposium on RMG safety at BUET Campus Report A day-long symposium on “Safety in the Garment Industry, Five Years after Rana Plaza” was held on Monday (30 April, 2018) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The program was jointly organized by BUET-Japan Institute of Disaster Prevention and Urban Safety (BUET-JIDPUS) and Bangladesh Network for Urban Safety (BNUS) at BUET Council Building at 9:30 am. Prof Dr Saiful Islam Vice-Chancellor of BUET was present to grace the inaugural session as chair. Leoni Cuelenaere, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bangladesh, was present as the Guest of Honor. Md. Shamsuzzaman Bhuiyan, Inspector General, Department for Inspection of Factories and Establishments (DIFE) and Brigadier General Ali Ahmed Khan, Director General, Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) were present as the special guests.
