National Cricket League: Barisal build huge lead over Rajshahi

Rajshahi division trailed by a mammoth 345 runs against Barisal Division in the second innings on day two of the four-day 17th National Cricket League (NCL) at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium (SKS), Rajshahi on Saturday.
In the day’s other league matches on the second day, Sylhet Division scored 352 for 8 wickets in the first innings against Chittagong Division at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah; Rangpur Division lead by 28 runs with 5 wickets in hand against Dhaka Metropolis in the first innings at Shaheed Chandu Stadium (SCS) Bogra while Khulna Division trail by 19 runs with 6 wickets in hand against Dhaka Division in the first innings at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna.
Barisal Div vs Rajshahi Div
Replying 302 runs scored by Barisal Division in the first innings, Rajshahi Division resumed the first innings with overnight score of 19 for 2 in 9 overs and were all out for meager 93 runs in 44 overs.
Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim scored team highest 32 runs off 80 balls with four fours while Muktar Ali (18), Farhad Reza (15) and Jahurul Islam (12) were the other double digit scorers for the side on the second day.
Towhidul Islam blew out Rajshahi’s 6 wickets for economic 31 runs while Golam Kabir poured salt on to pain taking 3 wickets for 11 runs.
Barisal Division opened the second innings on the second day and were all out for 160 runs in 44.4 overs.
Mosaddek Hossain scored team highest 40 off 57 balls with five fours and one six while skipper Fazle Mahmud (35), Sohag Gazi (25) and Monir Hossain (19) were the other notable contributors for the side.
Sanjamul Islam grabbed 4 wickets for 49 runs while Farhad Hossain and Farhad Reza captured 3 wickets each for 20 and 31 runs respectively.
Chasing 370 runs, Rajshahi Division opened the second innings on the day and were at stumps scoring 25 runs for no loss in 6 overs to trail by 345 runs at the end of the second day.
Sylhet Div vs Chittagong Div
Sylhet Division resumed the first innings with overnight score of 240 for 4 in 90 overs and were at stumps raising the tally to 352 runs for 8 in 120.2 overs.
Overnight 5th wicket stand between Rajin Saleh and Ruman Ahmed contributed a 143 runs in 45.3 overs to carry the team from 111/4 in 48.1 overs to 254/5 in 93.4 overs.
Ruman Ahmed scored team highest 80 runs off 145 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes while Rajin Saleh scored 74 runs off 236 balls with 6 fours and 1 six.
Rahatul Ferdous and Abul Hasan paired for a 72 runs in 17.4 overs in the 7th wicket stand.
Rahatul Ferdous was at stumps scoring 56 off 73 balls with 8 fours and Enamul Haque junior was on zero runs while the bails were drawn for the second day. Abul Hasan scored 32 off 59 balls with 5 fours.
Nabil Samad grabbed 3 wickets for 78 runs while Merajul Hoque and Mohammad Saifuddin took two wickets for 42 and 62 runs respectively.
Rangpur Div vs Dhaka Metro
Replying 238 runs, Rangpur Division resumed the first innings with overnight score of 12 for no loss in 7 overs and were at stumps raising the tally to 266 for 5 in 92 overs, spurred by a stunning unbeaten 6th wicket stand for 133 runs in 34.5 overs between Dhiman Ghosh and Ariful Haque.
Dhiman Ghosh at stumps for not out 85 off 111 balls featuring 13 fours and 1 six while Ariful Haque was on 48 off 99 balls with 6 fours.
Earlier, the 4th pair between Naeem Islam and Mahmudul Hasan was stand for an 86-run in 30.5 overs .
Naeem Islam scored 46 runs off 113 balls while with 5 fours while Mahmudul Hasan scored 41 runs off 93 balls with 6 fours. Overnight opener Tanveer Haider (31 off 59b, 4×6) was the other double digit contributor for the side.
Conceding 63 runs each, Mohammad Shahid and Elias Sunny took two wickets apiece. Sharifullah took the other one for 36 runs.
Khulna Div vs Dhaka Div
Dhaka Division resumed the first innings with overnight score of 174 runs for 8 in 62.2 overs and were all out for 187 runs in 66 overs.
Overnight Nadif Chowdhury scored 36 runs off 63 balls with two fours and three sixes while Dewan Sabbir added not out 11 runs in the first innings on the second day.
Mustafizur Rahman and veteran spinner Abdur Razzak grabbed 4 wickets each for 29 and 72 runs respectively for the side.
Opening the first innings, Khulna Division were at stumps scoring 168 runs for 4 in 49 overs.
Opening batsman Mahedi Hasan scored team highest 53 off 113 runs in with 8 fours and 1 six while Imrul Kayes, Tushar Imran and the Tigers’ pride Shakib Al Hasan added 29, 26 and 13 runs respectively.
Nurul Hasan and Mohammad Mithun were at stumps scoring 25 and 21 runs respectively when the bails were drawn for the second day.
Nazmul Islam grabbed two wickets for 67 runs while Dewan Sabbir and Mosharraf Hossain took one wicket each for the side.
