‘No leniency for drug dealers’

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has ordered strict legal action against drug dealers, extortionists and land grabbers, regardless of their identity or position.

He issued the directive on Tuesday at the monthly crime review meeting for September, attended by senior DMP officials at the conference room of DMP Headquarters.

The commissioner instructed police officials to show no leniency towards those involved in such crimes.
The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation in Dhaka Metropolitan City, along with the nature and trends of crime.

The commissioner also provided guidance on crime control, legal action against offenders and measures to ensure public safety.
