Bangladesh Surveyor Samiti gets govt registration, holds grand conference

The Bangladesh Surveyor (Amin) Samiti organized a grand conference in the capital on Saturday to celebrate its official registration from the government. Around 700 surveyors and amins from across the country participated in the event, which was held at the central auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbagh. According to the organizers, the association formally began its journey on November 23, 2024, by forming a 370-member convening committee headed by Md. Rimon Khan. Following a long process, the organization achieved its national registration under the Bangladesh government on August 16 this year. Amir Azam Khan, former Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, attended the event as the chief guest, while Ali Akbar Khan, a retired meteorologist of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, was present as the special guest.The association’s General Secretary Rayhan Parvez, along with 20 to 25 other members and civil court commissioners, also spoke on the occasion. Addressing the event, the speakers emphasized the need to modernize the surveying profession by integrating contemporary technology. They stressed the importance of enhancing the professional skills of the surveyors and strengthening coordination among the professionals through the platform. In his concluding speech, President of the Bangladesh Surveyor (Amin) Samiti, Mohammad Rimon Khan, thanked the attendees and shared the future roadmap of the organization. He announced that a fully-fledged central committee would be formed soon to conduct the association’s activities smoothly. He also outlined plans to organize surveyors and amins by forming committees at the district and upazila levels across the country to ensure the development and progress of the profession. Furthermore, the president shared a vision of constructing a multi-story building on the association’s own land, detailing the necessary proposals and initiatives required for its implementation. The participating surveyors and amins expressed their strong determination to accelerate the future activities of the organization now that it has secured official government recognition.
