‘I am not engaged’, Shertaj Jebin responds to rumours

For a few days, rumours have been circulating in the theater community that small screen actress Shertaj Jahan Jebin is engaged.

The news was also published in some media outlets in the country. However, the actress has not commented on the matter so far. Now, in a post on social media, she has directly denied the engagement news.

In a post on his social media on Friday, Jebin said that he has not been engaged recently. She claimed that this news about her was published without any kind of communication or verification of information.

Jebin wrote, “I want to make it clear that I have not had any engagements recently. The news is completely false and was published without any contact with me or verification of the information.”

The actress is currently abroad, where she said she went for her father’s treatment. She also mentioned that she was embarrassed to publish news about her personal life without verification in such a situation.

Jebin said that her full focus is currently on her father’s treatment and family. Therefore, she considers it undesirable to publish such news about her personal life during a sensitive time like her father’s treatment.

Jebin also highlighted the responsibility of the media in her post. She said that before publishing news about an artiste’s personal life, it is necessary to take the statement of the person concerned and verify the authenticity of the information. She expects such responsibility, especially from the established media.

The actress also requested that the incorrect information published be verified and corrected.

She also urged the concerned person to confirm her statement before publishing any personal or sensitive information about her in the future. Jebin has urged not only the media but also fans to be careful.

She advised to verify the information without assuming any news is true.

Along with requesting not to share misleading news, the actress said that any wrong information can have an unnecessary impact on a person as well as his family and personal life. According to her, news should be based on facts, not assumptions.

However, Jebin’s statement regarding marriage is not entirely new. A few months ago, she had revealed her marriage plans in an interview.

At that time, she had said, “I am seriously thinking about marriage now. I will get married very soon in a family setting.”
