3 held in separate drives in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI: Police display 10 bottles of locally brewed illicit liquor recovered, one was held during a special operation in Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari on Saturday.

Police arrested two people with 10 bottles of locally brewed illicit liquor during a special drive in Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari. In a separate operation, another accused in a political case was also arrested.

According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Gafur, the two arrested with the illicit liquor are Sri Manik Chandra Roy (55), son of the late Biraj Chandra Roy of Uttar Bahagili Khamatpara, and Md. Hasenur Rahman alias Babu (27), son of Abdur Rahman of Khata Madhupur Talpukur Guchchhagram in Saidpur Upazila.

Police said the operation was conducted late on the night of August 1. A case was filed with Kishoreganj Police Station under FIR No. 1, dated August 1, 2026, and GR No. 212, under Sections 36(1), Schedule 24(a)/41/38 of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.
