Concern over snatching JMB man killed to hide truth: BNP
The BNP has termed the incident of freeing the convicted three JMB militants and then subsequent killing of the recaptured Rakib Hasan in crossfire as ‘both alarming and mysterious’. The other two are Salauddin Salehin and Boma Mizan. The party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the JMB member was killed in an attempt to hide real story. The death has raised many questions in the people’s minds. He also said that the snatching incident is the failure of the government only.He said this to the journalists after placing wreaths at the grave of late President Ziaur Rahman in the city on Monday after release of the party organising secretary Golam Akbar Khandaker.Mirza Fakhrul expressed grave concern over the incident and said that the snatching of the three JMB militants proved there was no adequate security. Sufficient safety measures should have been taken at the time of shifting prisoners like them, he added. Rakib Hasan died in a gunfight at Mirzapur in Tangail on Monday dawn, hours after their escape from a police van. On Sunday morning, unidentified miscreants swooped on the police prison van carrying the three convicts of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a banned religion based outfit. The incident happened at Trishal upazila in Mymensingh district. A Police constable was also killed at that time.
