MUJ to hold biennial election on 6 Sept

The biennial election of the Metropolitan Journalists’ Union (MUJ), Khulna, will be held on September 6, while its annual general meeting (AGM) is scheduled for September 5.

The decisions were taken at the union’s general meeting held on Saturday noon at the Humayun Kabir Balu Auditorium of Khulna Press Club.

The meeting was chaired by Acting President Atiar Parvez and conducted by General Secretary Hasan Ahmed Molla.

A three-member election commission was also formed to oversee the election. Sardar Abu Taher, executive editor of Dainik Janmabhumi, was named chairman of the committee.

The other members are Sohag Dewan, editor of Dainik Khulna Protidin, and Md Anis Uddin, associate editor of Khulna Gazette.

The general meeting unanimously approved the schedule for the AGM on September 5 and the biennial election on September 6.
